During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of millions of moustaches around the world. Committing their top lip for 30 hairy days,these men (known as Mo Bros) become walking, talking billboards and through their Mo growing efforts, raising vital funds and awareness for prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health. Thanks to the support of over one million Mo Bros and Mo Sistas across 21 countries, Movember is now recognised as one of the world’s leading non-government funders of research and care programs for men’s health issues. As an independent global charity, Movember’s vision is to have an everlasting impact on the face of men’s health.

Challenge

The Movember teams are spread across Australia, New Zealand, United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland and South Africa. Each region has specific performance indicators and information about the performance in each region was being distributed internally.

The business was craving a lot of metrics that weren’t easily accessible and started looking at different options to display some of the business and technology metrics to the offices around the world.

Solution

Thanks to Geckoboard, all of this information is now displayed on dashboards in real-time for each region to see. Everyone was extremely impressed with the information being provided and how sleek and polished the interface looked. People were so impressed that they kept asking for additional information to be mashed together and displayed via some of the custom widgets.

Initially, the boards were there to display the same information that had originally been displayed in previous campaigns. But as the teams grew to understand the capabilities of Geckoboard, they began to more carefully choose key performance indicators (KPIs) that would fit business goals and that everyone would find useful.

Result

Using Geckoboard has allowed numerous business and technology metrics to be integrated into one real-time dashboard. Combining data from across the organisation provides the transparency and accountability that is required to improve and grow.

Displaying the various metrics has proved to be a great talking point and creates friendly competition between the various regions. Enabling the regions to see all relevant KPIs creates general banter about who is doing well and encourages those lagging behind.

All the regional teams have indicated that the dashboards help them to understand how they are placed and enable them to make informed decisions.
