Nude Life had built the systems to handle thousands of customer inquiries. Its next stage of growth depended on creating an environment where a new Sales team could stay motivated, understand what success looked like, and work toward shared goals.
For Director Charlie Howes, that meant putting performance where everyone could see it.
Nude Life provides life drawing events for parties across the UK and Europe. The company began as Charlie’s side project, but demand grew far more quickly than he’d expected.
Intercom helped Nude Life manage and automate the quotes it sent in response to inquiries. With the operation ready to scale, Charlie invested in paid advertising, SEO, and a dedicated Sales team.
The team gave the business more capacity for growth, but Charlie also wanted to create the focus and energy that would help its salespeople thrive.
“We hit the threshold of efficiency. The next thing for growth was going to be more of a sales environment and that’s where Geckoboard came in.”

Turning targets into daily direction
Charlie initially tracked monthly sales performance in a spreadsheet. It brought the numbers together, but it didn’t make progress easy for the team to follow during the day.
As Charlie was still working in other full-time roles, he also needed a way to keep performance visible without manually updating and sharing the numbers every day.
With Geckoboard, Nude Life brought sales data from Intercom, Google Analytics, and Google Sheets into one dashboard. Targets, bonuses, and individual performance were all visible in the same place.
Scheduled dashboard Snapshots delivered to Slack gave the team a regular view of its progress and kept everyone aligned around the same goals.

Creating purpose around performance
The dashboard gave Nude Life’s salespeople more than a list of numbers. It showed them what they were working toward and how their contribution affected the team’s performance.
“What Geckoboard does is it enables transparency of performance. It gives people a guideline and something to aim for. We also obviously brought in targets and remuneration for those targets but the dashboard just gives people a bit more purpose and direction.”
People could see where they stood against their targets without waiting for Charlie to provide an update. That clear direction helped keep the team focused and brought friendly competition into the working day.
The dashboards also connected individual performance to a wider view of the business. Everyone could see how the team was doing, recognize progress, and understand where more attention was needed.
Keeping the team aligned as the business evolved
The visibility became even more valuable as Charlie’s role changed.
Nude Life is now predominantly managed by his sisters, while Charlie remains actively involved as a Director and runs another business. He can’t always be part of Nude Life’s day-to-day operation, but he still needs to understand how it’s performing.
A scheduled dashboard Snapshot arrives in Slack at 8 a.m. each morning. It gives Charlie a quick view of sales performance and the wider health of the business.
If something changes unexpectedly, he can see it early and respond instead of discovering it after it’s had more time to affect sales.
“That 8am snapshot in Slack is also a really good way for me to see if everything’s working and it kind of gives me daily peace of mind because I’m focused on other things.”
A sales environment built around shared goals
Geckoboard helped Charlie turn Nude Life’s sales targets into something the team could see and work toward every day.
Salespeople gained clear goals, a shared sense of progress, and more purpose around their performance. Charlie gained confidence that he could stay connected to the business even when his attention was elsewhere.
Together, those changes created the sales environment he’d been looking for. One where expectations are clear, progress is visible, and everyone knows what they’re aiming for.
